DEVELOPING THE MARINE ECONOMY IN QUANG NAM PROVINCE

Abstract

Quang Nam is a locality in the key Central economic region, with great potential for marine economic development. The article uses qualitative research methods to analyze the current situation of the marine economy of Quang Nam province in the period from 2016 to 2020. The results show that Quang Nam's marine economy has achieved many encouraging results in various fields: port transport and services, fishing and aquaculture, shipbuilding, mining, tourism and marine services. However, it still has some limitations such as: outdated equipment and technology for seafood exploitation and preservation, undeveloped infrastructures in seas, coasts and islands, etc. From that situation, the study proposes some solutions to develop the local marine economy in the next period.
